Book Review:Shadow’s Claim by Kresley Cole

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I’m never one to put too much detail into a book review, because I want to give my opinion, but not spoil it for someone who has yet to read the book. That said, I was disappointed in this book. I’m used to Kresley Cole writing books that I can’t put down and creating rich characters with lives and communities outside of the forever partner who come into their lives. Her heros are tough and gorgeous and her heroines are always kick ass.

Trehan Dacian was tough and good looking, but there isn’t much more I can say about him. Bettina was pretty and talented, but – despite the weaponry she created – not exactly kick ass.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m perfectly fine with a variety of characters from an author and I don’t mind the occasional woman swooning as a buff guy fights for her (well, not literally, but you get my drift). The problem that I had with this book was that I felt the characters were a wee bit 2 dimensional. I didn’t really connect with them and, truthfully, couldn’t have cared less what happened to them.

I wouldn’t read it again, but I don’t feel it was a complete waste of my time to read it and, hey this is just my opinion; other readers have given it high ratings.

Check it out from your library, have a read and make up your own mind about it.

As always,

Happy reading

The whole Immortals After Dark Series is great. Romance with a mythical and paranormal elements, fated loves, werewolves, vampires, demons, Valkyrie, you name it. Engaging characters with hot sex scenes.
