Book Review: The Fairy Godmother by Mercedes Lackey

The Fairy Godmother (Five Hundred Kingdoms, #1)The Fairy Godmother by Mercedes Lackey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

One of the most interesting retellings of a fairytale I’ve read in a long time. Elena was a great heroine, not content to sit around and let fate have her way, but determined to make her own fate – and she does. Great blend of fantasy and romance with excellent humour thrown in as this ‘Cinderella’ turned Fairy Godmother teaches her ‘Prince’ a lesson by turning him into a donkey. Love this book and the whole Five Hundred Kingdom series. Mercedes Lackey is a very talented writer.
